Charlie Worsham, what’s up with that pile of dirt?

Charlie Worsham, in his decked out striped henley shirt with his shaggy brown hair brushed to the side, walked up and smiled. We were about to do a backstage interview before his summer gig opening for Brad Paisley.

But first, Charlie had a question.

“Want some dirt?”

He opened his hands to reveal a pile of dusty, chestnut-colored dirt.

I was incredibly confused but accepted it.

Charlie proceeded to tell me that it was from his hometown in Mississippi, and its his ritual to rub some dirt in his hands before every concert.  Fascinated by this, I began my interview by asking him to explain it. Click here or watch the video below to see his answer.
